Sunday (beginning September 6)

  • Minor Prophets...Major LessonsJim FarleyAuditorium
We’ll be looking at Joel, Jonah, Amos, Hosea and Micah and draw from them messages that we can use as we seek to live for Christ in today’s world.

  • JamesMonty Gillespie, Fellowship Hall
The book that was almost kicked out of the Sacred Writings is a practical guide for daily living. It will lead us to a deeper faith!

  • Survey/Overview of the Bible (continued) Keith Baker, Blue Room
A non-technical introduction to the Bible to help gain an overall perspective, understanding its flow and how it all fits together. Intent is to gain a broad grasp of the Bible and its most important concepts, i.e. a good look at the forest instead of the individual trees! This class is targeted for new Christians, those thinking about becoming Christians and wanting to understand the word better or those that feel they need a better grounding in basic Bible knowledge.

 Wednesday (beginning September 2)

  • Islamic State: What it means for Christianity—Jon Hackett,     Fellowship Hall
This class will be an introduction into Islam, its roots, what they really teach and believe, why it has become one of (if not THE) fastest growing religion in the world, and how the church should deal with this fast growing religion. In this class, Jon will use various sources of material, including readings from “The Koran,” as well as pulling from his mission experiences in Africa where he dealt with an ever growing Muslim population daily. This will be an informative class and is on a subject that every Christian in today’s world should have some knowledge of.

  • The Way of Jesus in Everyday Life—Frank Wright, Blue Room
This class will explore topics based on the simple and daily practices of being a Christian.  Such topics will include friendship, hospitality, forgiveness, listening and how one can make these a distinctive way of life in their Christian walk.
