Sunday
Psalms - Frank Overcast, Auditorium
More Than Nursery Rhymes and Snappy Tunes: The Book of Psalms is more than a sentimental collection of poems and songs. Join us to explore these personal writings that express the devotion, dependence and expectation of our Living God.
Radical Restoration-A Call for Pure and Simple Christianity - Gene Payne and Barry Boverie, Fellowship Hall
What would it be like if we radically restored first-century faith and practice in our own time and culture? This class, based on the book of the same name by F. LaGard Smith, will examine the history of the restoration movement, analyze current church practices, and discuss ideas to become a radically restored church.
Christian Character in a World of Characters- Jon Hackett, Blue Room (College Age/Young Adults)
Compassion, humility, faith, perseverance. We long for the beauty of Christ to be reflected in our lives. This kind of character comes only as God transforms us though the Word of God. This class will focus on helping you become the person God wants you to be.
Wednesday
Mine Sweeping - Mike Grose, Fellowship Hall
Our enemy seeks to destroy us, and he is plating subtle, and often, hidden, landmines across the battlefield of our minds. But, according to 1 Corinthians 10:13, you can avoid the explosive consequences of these spiritual landmines, and stay off the casualty list. Come and learn how to uncover and disarm Satan's destructive weapons: pride, jealousy, insecurity, sexual sin, disappointment, unforgivness, and more.
Separation of church and state- God's Will or Man's Invention? - Dan Moore, Blue Room
In American society, there seems to be an every-increasing debate as to the proper role of Christianity outside of Sunday mornings. Are we a Christian nation? Should we be a Christian nation? Should the Church involve itself with the inner workings of our government or can we effectively accomplish our earthly mission in a separate dimension? We will study the examples God has provided us and work to a clearer understanding of God's will for the Church and its members in our society.
